KUCHING, March 13: Sabah Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Jeffrey Kitingan will be the guest of honour and will officiate the flag-off ceremony at the upcoming 722 Sarawak Independence Day Parade set to be held in Bau on July 22.
According to the organising committee of this year’s 722 Sarawak Independence Day Parade, Jeffrey was also the guest of honour during the 722 Parade in Kampong Simpok in 2023 and the 722 Sarawak Independence Day Dinner in 2024.
Cultural performances, Dayak martial arts demonstration, and Lion Dance performance are expected to be held prior to the flag off of the 722 Sarawak Independence Day Parade.
The committee said they have invited about 20 Dayak associations from Bau, Lundu, Padawan and Serian.
This year’s organising committee is led by Francis Anthony with assistance from deputy Atet dego and organising secretary Anthony David.
The Organising Committee cordially invite all Sarawakians to join them to celebrate the 62nd Sarawak Independence Day.
