KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 2: The retail prices of fuel for RON97, RON95 will be increased for the period of October 3 to 9.
At the same time, diesel prices will be lowered.
According to a press statement from the Finance Ministry, the fuel prices for RON97 and RON95 for the period of October 3 to 9 will be adjusted upward by three sen a litre while the price for diesel will be reduced by one sen a litre.
It said the weekly setting of the retail price for petroleum products for the period of October 3 to 9 follows the automatic pricing mechanism (APM).
Hence, the ministry said the retail prices for RON97, RON95 and diesel were adjusted to reflect the changes.
It revealed that the price for RON97 will be increased by three sen to RM2.01 per litre while the price for RON95 will be adjusted upward by three sen to RM1.71 a litre.
Nonetheless, the Finance Ministry said diesel price for October 3 to 9 will be revised lower by one sen to RM1.70 a litre.
It asserted that the federal government is closely monitoring the effect of the changes in crude oil price and taking appropriate measures to ensure that the welfare of the people are taken care of. —DayakDaily
