Rocks blocking Jalan Beluru-Lapok successfully cleared by JKR Miri

MIRI, Jan 25: The Public Works Department Miri (JKR) deployed maintenance workers yesterday to immediately clear rock debris that rendered a section of Jalan Beluru-Lapok impassable.

Debris caused by landslides had blocked the road following heavy rain that occurred earlier that day.

Rocks from a landslide that was believed to have been caused by heavy rain blocked the road on Monday.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

According to the Public Works Department (JKR) Northen Zone manager Siaw Ming Chian, JKR Miri had deployed maintenance workers to immediately clear the debris.

“The road has been cleared of the rockslide and has been reopened to motorists,” he announced today.

Meanwhile, motorists have been advised to exercise caution when travelling in the area. — DayakDaily
