KUCHING, Jan 8: Several roads leading from the Old Courthouse to the Hikmah Exchange Event Centre will be closed to traffic in stages this Friday from 6am in preparation for the Opening of the Sarawak and Sabah Legal Year 2025 march.
In a statement today, Kuching District Police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said that the march will begin at 6.30am.
To ensure smooth traffic flow, the following roads will be affected by the staged closures: Jalan Gambier, Jalan Main Bazaar, Jalan Pearl, Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg, Jalan Barrack, Jalan Masjid, Padang Pasir roundabout, and Jalan P. Ramlee.
These roads will be reopened as soon as the legal fraternity has passed through the area.
The public is advised to plan their routes in advance to avoid traffic congestion during the closure.
Mohd Farhan also urges road users not to park along the road shoulder.
