KUCHING, May 10: The road widening at the T-junction in front of the Hui Sing Community Hall here to allow for smoother traffic flow is set to take two months and is expected to finish by the end of August 2023.

According to Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap in a statement today, Hui Sing residents had previously informed him that there is always a traffic jam at the T-junction in front of Hui Sing Community Hall during peak hours due to obstruction by cars waiting to turn right. Therefore, the residents requested the Kota Sentosa assemblyman to widen the road at the T-junction so that traffic could flow more smoothly.

Subsequently, Yap applied for funding to widen the road through the Sarawak government’s Rural Transformation Programme (RTP), and the application was approved by the regional government for implementation by Kuching South City Council (MBKS). The sum of RM50,000 was approved for the project.
