MARUDI, Dec 16: For the first time in Sarawak, the Fire and Rescue (Bomba) department got a road named after it in Marudi recently.

The move was made by the Marudi district council to ensure that the registration process and request for maintenance allocation under Malaysia Road Record Information System (Marris) would be easier.

It is understood that the road was registered as Jalan Bomba in 2018, and its sign was erected last Wednesday (Dec 11) by the Marudi district council.

The road was already famously known among the locals as “Jalan Bomba” because there is already a fire station along the road. The first state to have a road named after the Bomba in Malaysia was Pahang. —DayakDaily.
