KUCHING, June 30: A temporary road closure and traffic diversion is in place along Jalan Sagah-Moyan here from June 25 to Oct 9, from 8am to 5pm, to facilitate immediate remedial works due to road embankment failure at Km1+200.
The Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak, in a notice today, disclosed that the road closure and traffic diversion will only be implemented when repair works on the road surface are in progress to enable heavy machinery to enter affected sites.
The road will be reopened as soon as work has been completed to smoothen traffic flow.
JKR Sarawak advised all motorists to keep an eye out for and adhere to all safety signages which have been erected along the affected areas, and give cooperation to and follow the instructions of guards to facilitate traffic flow.
JKR Sarawak’s Kuching Division office will keep the public updated if there are changes to the date, time or areas involved in the repair and upgrading work.
Motorists are also advised to plan their journeys throughout the road maintenance period.
