KUCHING, Aug 26: The 10th Mile traffic light junction will be closed temporarily starting Sept 1 until Dec 15, 2021.

According to the Public Works Department (JKR) in a statement today, the road closure is to facilitate pavement construction work for the Pan Borneo Highway project.

“Among the affected areas are the turn routes from Kuching or Mile 9th Mile towards Kota Padawan, and routes from Kota Padawan towards Serian.

“Road users are advised to use the alternative roads provided according to the installed directional signs, and road users can make a U-turn at the Mile 8 and Mile 11 traffic light junctions,” it said.

JKR noted the contractor will try to shorten the construction time depending on the weather and construction site conditions.

“Continuous cooperation from all road users is highly appreciated and any inconvenience caused is greatly regretted,” the statement read. — DayakDaily
