Road bully captured on viral video at Jalan Pasar Sungai Maong fined RM800 in court

KUCHING, June 22: The Magistrate’s Court here has fined a road bully RM800 for criminal intimidation at Jalan Pasar Sungai Maong for knocking on a woman’s car window in an intimidating manner while stopped in the middle of the road.

Masyhur, 31, from Kampung Sageng, Simunjan, pleaded guilty to the charge framed before Magistrate Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali.


Magistrate Syarifah convicted him as charged and sentenced him to a fine of RM800 or in default to two week’ imprisonment.

He was found to have committed criminal intimidation by purposely knocking on a 28-year-old woman’s car window and speaking abusive words, at Jalan Pasar Sungai Maong, at about 11.30am on June 18.

He was charged under Section 506 of the Penal Code, which carries an imprisonment term of up to 7 years or a fine or both, upon conviction.

According to the brief facts of the case, while the victim was driving along Jalan Pasar Sungai Maong a car suddenly cut into her lane.

The victim was frightened by the car and had sounded her vehicle’s horn when suddenly the car stopped, before a man alighted from the car walked towards her.

The accused then started knocking on her car window in an intimidating manner and threw a cigarette butt towards her car.

The incident was captured by the victim and posted on social media where the video had since gone viral.

Prosecuting Officer Inspector Mohd Adzmei Ahmad prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented by counsel. — DayakDaily
