SIBU, March 9: A 36-year old motorcyclist died six days after he met with an accident at Jalan Ding Lik Kong.
The deceased had been identified as labourer Mohd Machie Aini of Rumah Linggie Lubok, Balingian.
Sibu district police chief, ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said a family member of the deceased lodged a police report at about 11.17am yesterday to inform that the victim had died while seeking treatment at Sibu Hospital.
The accident happened at 3pm on March 2.
“The victim was traveling along Jalan Ding Lik Kong and was heading toward Sungai Merah bazaar when he collided with a four-wheel drive while attempting to overtake it,” he said.
He was rushed to the hospital with serious injury. The 59-year driver of the vehicle was unhurt.
“”Family members were informed by the hospital staff that he passed away at 8.18am on March 8,” he said.
The case is investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
