RM765,600 in aid disbursed to 7,656 so far this year through ‘Sejambak Kasih’

MIRI, Jan 30: So far this year, a total of 7,656 or 14 per cent of recipients State-wide received monetary assistance, through the ‘Sejambak Kasih’ programme, including 835 from Miri, with total allocation amounting to RM765,600.

Minister of Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah said, last year, State-wide from January to December, State Welfare Department had disbursed assistance amounting to RM254,927,850 to 56,169 recipients.

“Out of this figure 4,607 recipients were from Miri Division which involved an allocation amounting to RM22,301,550 in 2023,” she said, when met at the Sejambak Kasih Chinese New Year 2024 programme at Dynasty Hotel Miri today.

For the month of January this year, Miri Welfare Department has disbursed assistance totalling RM1,848,100 to 4,393 recipients.

Also present were Deputy Minister of Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Rosey Yunus and Dynasty Hotel managing director Tony Pui. — DayakDaily
