KUCHING, Dec 30: Two Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) road upgrading projects in Kota Sentosa, involving a total investment of RM70,000, have been successfully completed.
Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap Yau Sin recently conducted final inspections on both sites, reaffirming the Sarawak Government’s commitment to people-centric development.
One of the two projects, located at Lorong 8, Jalan Semaba involved a RM30,000 allocation.
“The completed works have significantly improved the road surface condition, enhanced safety, and ensured smoother daily access for residents living along Lorong 8, Jalan Semaba,” said Yap during his inspection accompanied by the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP).
Yap noted that while the scale of the Jalan Semaba project was modest, such targeted upgrades play a vital role in addressing immediate community needs and improving daily comfort.
In a separate inspection, Yap visited the completed RTP upgrading works at Kampung Temedak, which carried a total project cost of RM40,000.
He expressed satisfaction with the quality of the works, noting that the upgraded road would enhance safety and accessibility for the Kampung Temedak community. He also extended his appreciation to local residents for their cooperation and feedback throughout the construction period.
Reiterating the commitment of the GPS-led Sarawak Government, Yap said people-centric infrastructure projects would continue to be prioritised to address community needs.
“I will continue to work closely with Majlis Perbandaran Padawan to ensure that all approved projects in Kota Sentosa are implemented efficiently, completed on schedule, and meet the required quality standards,” he said. — DayakDaily
