RM4,000 stolen from shop in night burglary

The back shutter door believed to be the thieves’ point of entry.

MIRI, July 13: A shop along Jalan Bendahara here lost nearly RM4,000 in cash after it was broken into early today.

A team of police officers were immediately dispatched to the scene to investigate after being alerted by one of the shop employees.

It was believed that the thieves had gained access into the shop via the back shutter door, as there was some damage to the shutters.

The incident unfolded early this morning at around 6am when the theft was discovered by one of the shop’s workers. She then immediately alerted her supervisor who later called the police.

A cashier machine and several food items were also reported missing. — DayakDaily
