RM350mil for Sabah-Sarawak dilapidated schools under stimulus package

KUCHING, March 27: Putrajaya will continue with the repairing of dilapidated schools in Sabah and Sarawak with the allocation of RM350 million for immediate continuation of projects.

This is part of the RM2 billion allocation to carry out small projects that have high multiplier impact to ensure continuous economic activities and sustainability in maintaining the workforce, said Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

“Small projects valued at RM2 billion that was announced in the package before this will be implemented starting April.


“These projects include the Felda infrastructure project worth RM600 million, repairing dilapidated school projects in Sarawak and Sabah worth RM350 million, and housing repairing project for the hardcore poor worth RM150 million,” he said when announcing the RM250 billion economic stimulus package called PRIHATIN today.

Muhyiddin added that the federal government will be working closely with all state governments to ensure government assistance would reach the indigenous and native communities in the rural areas across the country as soon as possible. — DayakDaily
