KUCHING, July 5: The RM300,000 Batang Sadong/Sungai Buluh Rest and Rehabilitation Facility (RnR) project was finished yesterday.
According to a news report published today by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), Simunjan assemblyman Awla Dris stated that the project aims to provide comfort and safety to the public when travelling long distances.
“This project has been allocated under the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) for the year 2020.
“The facility can be used to rest before the public continue their journey,” he said on Monday during a visit and survey to the project site.
Awla went on to say that the facility is also capable of improving the socioeconomic status of the locals, allowing them to engage in any food and beverage business.
“As we all know, the State government has approved the construction of a line of coastal roads to strengthen rural development,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the Simunjan assemblyman added that a committee will be formed to manage the RnR, which will be led by Tuai Rumah Sili Bunsi from Kampung Sungai Buluh.
The Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS), as the implementing agency, also attended the visit to obtain detailed information on the implementation and operation of the RnR facility.
Also present were MPKS assistant engineer Radin Noor Suzilaazwa Farawati Radin Narawie, Tuai Rumah Sili Bunsi; deputy head of N25 Simunjan branch Bojeng Ali, head of the N25 Simunjan Women’s Movement Rosita Poni, and head of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Zone 4 Rangawan Rafendy Ariffien. — DayakDaily
