RM3,000 fine for operating entertainment outlet without licence

KUCHING, Nov 6: An entertainment outlet owner was fined RM3,000 in default one month’s jail for operating without a licence.

Kueh Song Kheng, 57, from Batu Kawa, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Zubaidah Sharkawi to running a public entertainment outlet without a licence under the Entertainment Ordinance 2000, at Hui Sing Commercial Centre, at about 12pm on July 21, 2017.

He was charged under Section 5(1)(b) of the Entertainment Ordinance 2000 and punishable under Section 5(3) of the same Act, which carries fine not exceeding RM20,000 or imprisonment not exceeding five years or both.

Prosecuting Officer Rogayah Rosli prosecuted while the accused is represented by counsel Lim Lian Kee. — DayakDaily
