LIMBANG, Dec 3: The RM300 million Limbang Major Specialist Hospital project is set to be completed within five years, bringing enhanced healthcare services to the region.
According to a news report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Deputy Minister of Food Industry, Commodities and Regional Development of Sarawak, Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail, stated that the project has been approved by the Sarawak government.
“We also thank the Ministry of Health (MOH) for approving the application that has been requested by the people of Limbang for a long time,” he said during the Limbang Life Care Society’s ambulance launch at Kampung Bunga Raya yesterday (Dec 3).
The hospital will feature 20 specialists, marking it as a major specialist healthcare facility for the Limbang Division.
During the event, Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman also commended the Life Care Society Limbang for their efforts to bolster healthcare services with the addition of a new ambulance for the district.
With the launch of a new ambulance, Dr Abdul Rahman hoped that the organisation would continue to provide welfare services to the community, regardless of racial and religious boundaries.
To further support their initiatives, he announced an allocation of RM25,000 to the organisation.
Also attending were Limbang Hospital Director Dr Nurain Yahya, representative of Limbang District Officer Hadiana Simatzaman, and Chairman of the Life Care Society Limbang Ling Ung Tong. –DayakDaily
