MIRI, June 14: An allocation totaling RM220,000 under Piasau assemblyman Dato Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew’s Rural Transformation Project (RTP) has been approved to upgrade facilities at SMK Lutong and SK Lutong.
This was disclosed by Ting on Monday during his visit to both schools.
“Under my RTP for 2022, I have allocated an amount of RM100,000 to help SMK Lutong to reconstruct the school’s facilities,” the Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts told reporters today.
He added that the Public Works Department (JKR) will assist with drawing up the plans.
“We hope every project can be completed according to the time frame,” he said.
Meanwhile, for SK Lutong, upgrades are being planned for its assembly hall.
The work is estimated to cost about RM120,000.
“Both projects are scheduled to start construction works in August and are expected to be completed by December this year,” he said. — DayakDaily
