RM2.3 mln allocated to 23 schools in Sarawak

SIBU, Oct 3: A total of RM2.3 million has been disbursed to 23 schools in Sarawak, including government-aided schools (SBK).

Deputy Minister of Education, Lim Hui Ying, announced this during her visit to 17 schools in Sarawak, where the funds were allocated to the beneficiary schools.

She explained that school representatives were invited to the respective schools visited to receive the allocations.


Lim Hui Ying, speaking at a press conference during her working visit to SMK St Elizabeth, marked this school as the last stop in their 10-day working tour across Sarawak.

“In Sibu today, the total amount allocated amounted to RM310,000. We allocated RM110,000 to SMK Elizabeth, RM100,000 to SJKC Tiong Hin, and RM100,000 for SJKC Thai Kwang,” she stated.

Lim expressed her hope that the schools would make full use of the funds allocated by the Federal government.

Also in attendance at the event were Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker Alice Lau, Sibu MP Oscar Ling, Senator Roderick Wong, and Sarawak Education Deputy Director Dr Les Met. — DayakDaily
