MUKAH, July 18: The Sarawak government has approved an allocation of RM17.5 million to upgrade the 12.5km Jalan Igan-Oya route.

In a TVS news report, Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya said the project is expected to take 12 months to complete starting July 5, 2023, to July 4, 2024.

“These upgrading works are sure to cause inconvenience to road users, so I advise them to be patient and cooperate fully so the project can progress smoothly,” said the Jemoreng assemblyman.

He also advised the project’s contractor to carry out their job according to the specifications stated.

“Once upgrading works are completed, it will make the route not only comfortable to be used but also safe for all,” he said. — DayakDaily
