MUKAH, Aug 5: The RM103.94 million Kampung Kebuaw–Telok Daloh–Bungan Kecil road construction project in Mukah Division has achieved 98.10 per cent physical progress and is scheduled for completion on Aug 23.
Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) and Jemoreng assemblyman Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya said the remaining works must be closely monitored to ensure the project is completed within the revised timeline while maintaining the required standards of quality and safety.
According to a briefing by the Public Works Department (JKR) Mukah Division, the project recorded 98.10 per cent physical progress as of July 25, 2026, slightly behind the scheduled progress of 98.59 per cent, resulting in a negative variance of 0.49 per cent.
Financial progress stood at 98.20 per cent, compared with the target of 99.62 per cent, reflecting a negative variance of 1.42 per cent.
The project’s completion date was revised to Aug 23, 2026 following an extension of time (EOT) of 692 days.
With 29 contract days remaining, the project encompasses the construction of a 10.968-kilometre main road and 7.255 kilometres of connecting roads.
The scope of works includes the construction of three reinforced concrete bridges, 16 junctions, road markings, road furniture, and solar-powered street lighting.
Juanda emphasised the need for stronger coordination and continuous monitoring among all parties involved to ensure the remaining works are completed within the stipulated period.
“The remaining works must be delivered according to schedule without compromising quality, safety, and compliance with the specified requirements,” he said after conducting a site visit to the project location at Kampung Kebuaw on Tuesday (Aug 4) as reported by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas).
He added that the completion of the project would significantly enhance connectivity for communities in Kampung Kebuaw, Telok Daloh and Bungan Kecil, providing residents with safer and more comfortable road access.
