KUCHING, 20 Jun: A new riverbank erosion protection project which cost about RM10 million will be implemented at Kampung Sinar Budi Lama at Batu Kawa.
Minister for Local Goverment and Housing Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian said the project will permanently strengthen two temporary emergency measures in the recent years to stop riverbank erosion at the village.
“Had ask the consultant to aim for the project tender out and work starts in next few months,” he said on his Facebook page, yesterday.
He had visited the village yesterday together with Director of Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) Sarawak, Datu Chok Moi Soon dan representatives from the newly appointed consultant architect for the project.—DayakDaily
