RM1 mln in Unifor grants presented to St Christopher Church, St Mark’s Chapel

SPAOH, Oct 27: A total of RM1 million in grants from the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) was presented to St Christopher Church in Debak and St Mark’s Chapel in Spaoh.

According to a statement, Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas handed over a RM500,000 grant from Unifor to St Christopher Church in Debak during his walkabout to his Bukit Saban constituency yesterday.

On hand to receive the grant was Reverend Eric Riis, the priest-in-charge of St Christopher Church during a simple ceremony held at Uggah’s Bukit Saban service centre in Spaoh town.


Uggah who is also the minister-in-charge of Unifor also presented a RM500,000 grant to St Mark ‘s Chapel, Spaoh.

Earlier, Uggah visited Kampung Hilir Spaoh, Kampung Tengah Spaoh, Kampung Hulu Spaoh and Kampung Pengan to check on the people’s welfare and wellbeing.

A political secretary to the Chief Minister Dr Richard Rapu and Bukit Saban Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) deputy chairman Abang Suhardie Abang Zaini accompanied him on the one-day visit. — DayakDaily
