KUCHING, Nov 6: Serian MP Datuk Seri Richard Riot Jaem today expressed his gratitude for the many goodies for all strata of society under Budget 2021 which was tabled in Parliament today.
“It’s a caring budget where there are many goodies. Among others, the budget continues with the government’s Covid-19 pandemic relief and stimulus initiatives both for rakyat and businesses,” said Riot here today.
Riot who is also Prime Minister’s Special Envoy to Japan, South Korea and Taiwan added that among the goodies are the Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR) for households earning less than RM2,500 will get RM1,800 for couples having two children and RM1,200 if they have one child.
He is also happy to note that for BPR households earning for RM2,100-RM4,000 will get RM1,200 for couples with two children and RM800 for couples with one child and for households earning RM4001-RM5000 will get RM750 for those having two children and RM500 for those having one child.
There is also welfare assistance of RM300 per month for the handicapped who are unable to work, which is an increase from the previous RM250 per month.
Additionally, Riot also highlighted that the federal government is allocating RM3 billion for Covid-19 vaccine Global Access (Covax).
“There is also an allocation of RM41 million for the surveying works for the native customary rights (NCR) land for Sarawak and Sabah,” he added.
Budget 2021 was tabled by Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz in Parliament today. — DayakDaily
