KUCHING, Aug 1: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) must win back Bidayuh-majority parliamentary seats in the coming 15th General Election (GE15), said Serian MP Dato Sri Dr Richard Riot Jaem.

In a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) yesterday (July 31), Riot said two of the three parliamentary seats were lost to the opposition during GE14.

“I hope GPS can win back Mas Gading and Puncak Borneo parliamentary seats and retain Serian parliamentary seat.

“We must win with big majority,” he said when officiating the ‘Balai Pusaka Anak Tebedu’ and Kampung Tebedu New Catholic Cemetery on Saturday (July 30).

For the record, Mas Gading parliamentary seat is currently held by Mordi Bimol of Democratic Action Party (DAP) while the Puncak Borneo parliamentary seat is held by Datuk Willie Mongin of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).

On June 20, Willie, who is also Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities, had revealed that he had applied to join Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) “a couple of months back”. – DayakDaily.
