SRI AMAN, July 30: A 33-year-old man from Rh Hassan Temelan was killed after his car crashed head on with a trailer at KM22 of Jalan Sri Aman-Sarikei this morning.
During the 10am incident, the trailer was travelling from Sarikei to Sri Aman and the car driven by the victim was coming from the opposite direction.
State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu revealed that based on initial investigation, the deceased was believed to have entered the opposite lane and crashed into the truck.
He added that at the time of accident, it was raining heavily.
The car was completely wrecked and the driver died on the spot due to serious head injuries.
Firefighters dispatched to the scene had to use special tools to extricate the deceased from the car.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
