KUCHING, July 30: The DAP Disciplinary Committee today terminated the membership of Ronnie Loh Ee Eng, who is a nominated representative of the Sabah Legislative Assembly, with immediate effect.

Committee chairman Chong Chieng Jen in a statement revealed Loh was sacked on the grounds of his defection from Democratic Action Party (DAP) to support Perikatan Nasional (PN) in Sabah with the intent to topple the Sabah state government.

“The termination takes immediate effect. He is also hereby removed from all his positions in the party.

“The Disciplinary Committee advises all our members to disassociate themselves from the defector,” he added.

Chong emphasised that the committee will take the sternest action against whoever defects because nothing is more treacherous and worse than a betrayal of the people’s mandate.

This came following Loh being reported as among the elected representatives who attended former Sabah Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman’s press conference last night (July 29) at his residence in Taman Fook Tin, Kota Kinabalu.

Musa announced that he has obtained a simple majority to form a new state government and that he is leading a new coalition to take over the current Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan)-led state government.

This morning, Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal announced the dissolution of the State Legislative Assembly to pave the way for the Sabah state election, which has to be held within 60 days.

Mohd Shafie made the announcement at the Sabah State Administrative Centre here after obtaining the consent of Sabah Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin. — DayakDaily
