Retiree loses RM32,500 after duped by part-time job scam

MIRI, March 27: A retiree in her 60s fell victim to a part-time job scam.

Miri police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu in a statement today confirmed receiving a report lodged by the victim yesterday.


“The individual lost a substantial amount—RM32,500 in cash,” Alexson said.

The victim fell into a trap when she clicked on the link to a website (www.TICKET2U.UU) she saw on Facebook, only to find out later that it was a scam.

The victim communicated with the suspect through the Telegram application and was given several tasks to do.

The victim had made 16 transactions into 8 different bank accounts. — DayakDaily
