SIBU, Apr 15: A retired policeman lost his life in an accident at Jalan Sibu-Durin this morning.
Siking Tausap, 69, from Rh John Ujang Sungai Durin was heading home from his orchard at about 8.30 am when he lost control of the motorcycle, crashing at the left shoulder of the road.
Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department head Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by medical officers from Sibu Hospital.
According to the victim’s wife, he had a history of heart disease.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. —DayakDaily
