KUCHING, May 9: Restaurants, eateries, hawker stalls and kiosks are allowed to open from May 12.
Nonetheless, those categories of businesses are required to observe strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) which were approved by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).
According to the guidelines for resuming social and economic activities in Sarawak, restaurants, eateries, hawker stalls and kiosks are allowed to operate from 5 am to 12 am while the business hours from 7 am to 10 pm.
It outlined that all workers from this sector are required to have their body temperature taken before they start work.
As part of the protocols, it disclosed that eateries must reveal the number of customers clearly at a certain period of time to comply with the social distancing rule.
The guideline also provided that the food and beverage (F&B) business must arrange their tables with two metres apart so that customers will be able to sit within the one-metre social distancing space.
As for restaurants, it disclosed that each table must not be more than four persons and the table must be arranged two meters apart.
SDMC said it encourages businesses to utilise the service of electronic payment such as Sarawak Pay.
F&B operators must also provide alcohol-based hand sanitizers and encourage their workers to wear face masks.
SDMC also encourages F&B operators to use biodegradable containers for takeaway.
It advised F&B operators to use dishwashing liquid which has the appropriate sodium hypochlorite content.—DayakDaily
