KUCHING, May 12: Heavy rain in several areas in Ulu Baram has caused major floods, especially in the Long Lellang area and its surroundings.

According to a news report from the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) on May 11, several pictures shared by the local villagers from the area on Monday showed that the water level in the Baram River was at a relatively dangerous level with strong currents.

This situation is also an early warning sign for the villages on the banks of the river to be on alert for floods.
