KUCHING, Jan 27: Repok assemblyman Dato’ Sri Huang Tiong Sii facilitated the allocation of funds totaling RM1 million to 34 primary and secondary school in Repok constituency.
According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) yesterday, Huang said the personal contribution is to aid the schools involved to run their annual activities as well as to help ease the burden of the parents when the school session start.
“All this while, everyone is aware that I put a great emphasis on education, and since I become the representative in 2016, I have worked hard every year to get the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) allocation from the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government led by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg to upgrade the schools’ infrastructures and facilities,” he said.
Huang presented the contribution in the form of cheques to the schools during a simple ceremony held at a local hotel in Sarikei on Tuesday (Jan 25).
Huang added, since 2019, he has been providing assistance such as school uniforms, school shoes, and schools bags to all students in Repok constituency regardless of their background.
During the ceremony, Huang also presented a RM100,000 cheque to Tadika Sze Hua. — DayakDaily
