KUCHING, Sept 12: The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) reminds the general public to avoid 3Cs, practise 3Ws, and always bear in mind the standard operating procedure (SOP) for the prevention of Covid-19.

In a statement today, the committee asserted it should be a habit by now for the public to avoid the 3Cs: Crowded places, Confined places, and Close conversations.

For the 3Ws, SDMC urged all Sarawakians to practise frequent hand Washing, always Wear face masks when going to public places, and obey Warnings from the Ministry of Health (KKM).

They should also avoid shaking or touching hands, practise coughing and sneezing etiquette, seek immediate treatment if symptoms occur, stay at home and avoid visiting, and perform regular disinfection and cleaning activities.

As for SOPs, the committee highlighted that all conditions (‘syarat’) for the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) must be complied with strictly.

Individuals with a high risk of infection such as children, babies, the elderly and those with special needs (OKU) need to be protected, so family members who are feeling unwell and symptomatic should seek immediate medical attention.

Physical distancing of at least one metre apart must also be practised at every occasion.

“SDMC advices the people not to be complacent and to continue to stay vigilant. Make sure health recommendations and advice are practised at all times,” said SDMC. — Dayakdaily
