According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Tatau, two other crocodiles were also captured during the afternoon session on the fourth day of the SAR operation, but no human remains were found in them.

The 16-foot crocodile was first spotted and captured by villagers this morning before being brought ashore at Rumah Win.

At around 10.30am, officers from the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC), assisted by Bomba, dissected the reptile and discovered human remains, including the head, jaw, abdomen and thigh tissue.

The skeletal remains were handed over to the police for further action, and later positively identified by the victim’s family.

Jeffery and his brother had been bathing near their farm hut when the crocodile struck. Despite his brother’s desperate attempt to save him by lunging at the animal, Jeffery was dragged into the river.

The SAR operation was officially called off at 4.16pm. — DayakDaily
