SIBU, July 4: Residents in Sibu Parliamentary constituency who are in need of food aid may start registering now.
Speaking during a press conference via Zoom today, Sibu MP Oscar Ling said his constituency covers the state constituencies (DUNs) of Bawang Assan, Pelawan and Nangka.
However those from outside the Sibu Parliamentary constituency but are residing and working here are also eligible to register for the food aid.
“Applicants from other districts outside Sibu but working and staying here, are also eligible to apply, but they need to specify their living address in Sibu, in order for us to deliver the food aid,” he said.
Joining him at the press conference was Pelawan assemblyman David Wong.
Ling said the federal government allocation of RM300,000 will be shared equally by the three DUNs, with each to get 5,000 food baskets, for a total of 15,000 overall.
“So we have to limit the value per basket to RM20, with 5kg rice and a 1kg tin of condensed milk in the basket,” he explained.
