Recreation parks, open spaces under MBKS closed until further notice

KUCHING, June 29: All recreation parks and open spaces under Kuching South City Council (MBKS) jurisdiction are closed to the public until further notice.

MBKS in a notice today said the closure is to comply with the latest guidelines issued by Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) which had stated yesterday that individuals and groups are not allowed to be in public areas from 12 am until 5 am during Phase One of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) effective today.

Meanwhile, MBKS in another notice said its counters will also be closed from today until further notice.

Last Sunday, SDMC chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas announced that Phase One of NRP will be extended indefinitely given that daily infections were still high in Sarawak.

However, there are no indicators at this stage as to when the restrictions will be eased for Sarawak. — DayakDaily
