KUCHING, Jan 20: The 11th edition of the Premier of Sarawak Environmental Award (PSEA) received 212 entries—surpassing the entries received in the two previous editions—becoming the highest number of entries received so far.
In a press release issued today, the Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) Sarawak said since its inception in 2001, the PSEA—formerly known as the Chief Minister Environmental Award (CMEA), has been a significant biennial event.
“It is a platform to recognise outstanding contributions to environmental sustainability, the PSEA plays a vital role in promoting environmental awareness and responsibility among businesses, organisations, and individuals in Sarawak.
“This surge in participation highlights the growing commitment to sustainable practices across various industries in Sarawak,” said the press release.
The 10th CMEA saw 144 entries, while the 9th CMEA recorded 106 entries.
The 11th PSEA award presentation ceremony will be held on Wednesday (Jan 22) at the Imperial Hotel Kuching and will be attended by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
In line with this, a courtesy call was made on the Premier by NREB Sarawak and the PSEA main organising committee at Wisma Bapa Malaysia today.
The courtesy call was to brief the Abang Johari on the upcoming award presentation ceremony and its significance in promoting environmental sustainability in Sarawak. — DayakDaily
