KUCHING, Sept 11: A real estate agent was charged in three separate Magistrate courts this morning for seven counts of fraud involving RM300,000.

Kuching district acting police chief Supt Merbin Lisa disclosed that the 47-year-old accused allegedly committed 32 financial transactions on May 11, this year.

“The accused – through telephone call and WhatsApp – allegedly offered to help his victim get gun license approval.

“The victim had made a total payment of RM300,000. Investigations also revealed that the accused had never helped the victim to apply for a firearm license and the money had been used for personal use,” Merbin revealed in a statement, adding that the accused was introduced by the victim’s own friend.

The accused was arrested by the police on Sept 8 through collaboration between Kuching IPD Commercial Crime Investigation and Petaling Jaya IPD Criminal Investigation.

“The accused pleaded not guilty to all seven charges under Section 420 of the Penal Code before Magistrates Aida Montong, Zubaidah Sarkawi and Zaiton Anuar.

The Magistrates allowed him a total of RM10,000 in court bail with one surety,” Merbin added.

The cases were persecuted by Insp Mohd Azdmei Ahmad, Insp Norsyafikah Nyaie Ilin and Insp Merelene Lindan Andrew Ma. — DayakDaily
