KUCHING, Oct 16: A family of eight, including two children were left homeless after their wooden house was completely destroyed in a fire today.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, they received the emergency call at 3.15pm about a fire at Kampung Sejingkat, Jalan Bako.
A total of 31 firefighters and one water tanker from Tabuan Jaya, Padungan and Petra Jaya were despatched to the scene.

Although the 30 x 40 feet house was razed to the ground, firefighters manage to prevent the fire from spreading and brought it under full control by 3.42pm.
