SIBU, Oct 16: Unable to bear with a bad stench, members of the public decided to summon firefighters for help to check on a shop lot at Lorong Ulu Sungai Merah here today.
A team of nine firefighters were despatched to the scene after receiving the call at about 3pm.
However, upon arrival they were unable to enter or proceed to the higher floor as the grill was locked and efforts to locate the shop owner failed.
Police were called in to assist in entering the premises.
Firefighters later proceeded to cut the grill with special tools and once they reached the second floor, they discovered a badly decomposed cat, believed to have died about a week ago. — DayakDaily
