Raghad presents RM1.58 mln in State funds to 4 Miri PDKs

MIRI, Oct 26: The wife of Head of State, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib distributed a total of RM1.58 million in grants to four community-based rehabilitation centres (PDK) in Miri during a ‘Jalinan Kasih’ programme.

The four recipients comprised Miri PDK (RM501,211.35), Sunflower PDK (RM 431,591.15), Morsjaya PDK (RM234,753.95) and Long Laput PDK (RM410,203.95).

During the programme, Raghad also presented RM5,000 each in financial assistance to five non-governmental organisations (NGOs) .

They are Palliative Care Miri, Miri Welfare Generation Crossover Society, Urusetia Saudara Kita Miri branch, Pusat Care Miri, and Doh Kayan Telang Usan.

A total of 50 underprivileged people including single mothers and people with disabilities also received financial contributions from Raghad during the event which was held at a hotel here.

Also present were Minister for Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah, Bekenu assemblywoman Datuk Rosey Yunus and Kayan paramount chief Temenggong Elizabeth Ding. — DayakDaily
