Ragad helps spread Ramadan cheer to 48 primary school students

KUCHING, March 31: The wife of the Sarawak governor, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib, brought cheer to 48 primary school students during a special donation programme organised by the Malaysian Government Servants Welfare and Sports Council (Maksak) Sarawak at Astana Negeri here on Thursday (March 30).

According to a news report by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), she handed over the donations with Maksak Sarawak president Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, who is also the State Secretary.

The programme is an annual activity organised by the council’s Welfare Bureau and Women’s Section during Ramadan.

Among those present at the event were the Maksak Women Sarawak president Datin Amar Baduyah Bujang, Deputy Secretary of the Sarawak Government (Economic and Development Plan) Datu Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel, and Sarawak State Attorney General Dato Sri Talat Mahmood Abdul Rashid.

The students are from SK Astana, SK Bako, SK Semariang, SK Buntal, SK Encik Buyong, SK Gersik, SK Gita, SK Goebilt, SK Kpg Senari, SK Madrasah Datuk Haji Abdul Karim Hasan, SK Matu Baru, and SK Muara Tebas. — DayakDaily
