RADDA to implement about 50 projects up to RM1.2 bln

KUCHING, March 7: The Rajang Delta Development Agency (RADDA) will implement about 50 infrastructure projects in the Rajang area amounting to RM1.2 billion.

According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Kuala Rajang assemblyman Datu Len Talif Salleh, who is the agency’s chairman said all the projects were suggested by the assemblymen in the area including those suggested by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

“We presented 41 projects but there will be an increase in the number of projects which is about 50 projects, that we will implement with an expenditure of RM1.2 billion.


“This project will have an impact on the development of infrastructure and the socio-economic status of the people in the area and so on,” he told reporters after chairing a RADDA meeting in Kuching today.

Len Talif, who is also Sarawak Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment, said the list of projects will be forwarded to the Sarawak Financial Secretary (SFS) and the Sarawak Economic Planning Unit (EPU) for approval.

“After this meeting we will forward the project list to SFS and EPU for them to review and estimate the allocation for application to the Premier of Sarawak or from the Development Bank of Sarawak (DBOS),” he added.

Among those present were Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Office (Corporate Affairs, Information and Ukas) and Semop assemblyman Datuk Abdullah Saidol, Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hing, Pakan assemblyman William Mawan Ikom, Tellian assemblyman Royston Valentine and Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi. — DayakDaily
