KUCHING, Mar 7: ‘Balik kampung’ and reunite with your loved ones this Hari Raya Aidilfitri, as AirAsia is offering 11,400 fixed-fare seats to Sarawak and Sabah in conjunction with the upcoming festive period.

According to a national daily, ticket prices for flights from Kuala Lumpur and Johor Baru are fixed at RM199 to Sarawak and RM249 to Sabah, with the value fares serving Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu, and Miri in Sarawak and Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, and Tawau in Sabah.

The booking period for the fixed fares will begin today at 6pm, and the travel period will be between April 19 to 21, 2023 and April 28 to 30, 2023.

Federal Transport Minister Anthony Loke stated that the campaign would be the second since the airline launched a similar one for Chinese New Year in January.

He also pointed out that Malaysia has come together as a nation to overcome the difficult recent years, and it is commendable of AirAsia to ensure that affordable travel is an option for many.

According to Loke, the fixed fares will allow tens of thousands of people to ‘balik kampung’ and reunite with their loved ones at a low cost.

During AirAsia’s ‘Balik Kampung’ launching event today at AirAsia’s headquarters in Sepang, he also urged other industry players to follow suit and reduce the cost of travel, particularly during the festive season, so that people can spend more time with their friends and families.

Furthermore, the Transport Minister noted that AirAsia would be adding 62 flights to its current schedule in order to meet the demands of travellers during the holiday season. — DayakDaily
