KUCHING, Feb 26: A fire that broke out in a unit at an apartment at Jalan Lapangan Terbang earlier this afternoon was quickly contained by workers at the building, preventing it from spreading and causing further damage.
According to reports by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue department (Bomba), they received an emergency call at 2pm today and dispatched a team from the Batu Lintang fire station.
The team arrived at the scene, and found that fire had completely destroyed the living room of a unit on the fourth floor of the apartment building.
However, thanks to the swift response of the building’s staff, who used 12 units of fire extinguishers, the blaze was quickly contained, and no injuries or casualties were reported.
After ensuring there were no more sources of fire, the Bomba team returned to the station. – DayakDaily
