KUCHING, July 13: The new Computerised Vehicle Inspection Centre (Puspakom) in Kota Samarahan will provide door-to-door inspection services starting September.
Minister of Transport Sarawak Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin said services will include ownership transfer of vehicles, and special inspection for interchange number of vehicle registration.
“Thesenservices will be implemented in Kuching and Samarahan first, and if there is a demand for the service, we will request for it to be extendedbto other areas,” he said at a press conference during his visit to the new Puspakom Inspection Centre Kota Samarahan today.
Meanwhile, Puspakom general manager (operation) Dr Ahmad Zahiri Ismail said bookings for the door-to-door service is available through the Puspakom website.
He also said for a start, there are two unit of service vans that will be provided for these services.
“The inspection fees will remain as per gazetted by the government, but definitely we will charge a reasonable price for the door-to-door services.
“For the service fees, we are still finalising the matter and will announce it soon,” he added. — DayakDaily
