Alleged sifu fined RM500 for cheating woman who wanted to save marriage of RM17,895

SIBU, Feb 24: A 47-year old woman who sought the service of a sifu (master) to save her marriage, ended up being cheated of RM17,895.

The accused, Lee Liong Poo of Selangor was fined RM500 by the Magistrate’s Court today after she pleaded guilty to cheating the woman.


According to the facts of the case, the complainant from Jalan Poh Yew had in September 2018, saw an advertisement on Facebook regarding free inquiries on health and family problems.

As the complainant was in the process of a divorce and wanted to save her marriage, she sent a message to the owner of the account.

The accused told her that there was a sifu who could help her.

When the complainant called the sifu, she was told to make payments for the purpose of purchasing prayer equipment as well as lottery numbers to change her fate.

The complainant made seven payments totalling RM17,895 from November 30, 2018 to January 17, 2019.

However the sifu had on January 18 asked her to make another payment of RM3,400 as a “thank you” payment.

The complainant realised she had been cheated when she did not receive the lottery number and her phone number had been blocked by the sifu when she refused to pay. ā€” DayakDaily
