MIRI, Jan 28: The 500-metre long flyover along Pujut Link Interchange is expected to be fully completed by March and not end of this month as initially planned.

According to Transport Minister Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, the current physical construction works at the site are at 90 per cent completion.

Lee was met on Friday morning, after conducting a site visit to the Pujut Link Interchange.

“More than a month ago, I visited the site here, and the Public Works Department (JKR) contractors were trying their very best to finish it (the Pujut Link Interchange) before Chinese New Year, but it looks like we can’t finish it on time due to the bad weather condition,” he explained.

The opening of the Pujut Link Interchange thus has been rescheduled, he added.

Lee speaking to local media after the site visit.
Prior to the opening, however, he said a safety audit would be carried out first.
The Pujut Link Interchange is one of Pan Borneo Highway’s projects which has begun construction works in 2017.
Accompanied Lee during his site visit was JKR’s assistant Northern Zone manager Michael Ting. — Dayakdaily
