MIRI, Nov 11: A misunderstanding between two civil servants attached with the Public Health Department at Jalan Temenggong Oyong Lawai Jau on Monday afternoon led to a confrontation with one of them wielding a machete.
According to Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah, a police report has been lodged by the 38-year-old female victim over the 1.15pm incident.
“The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation,” he said.
Prior to the incident, the complainant was resting inside a room of the building when suddenly the suspect, in his 40’s, came in holding a machete.
An altercation ensued between the two.
However, a potentially bloody incident was avoided as other co-workers managed to overpower the suspect and disarm him. — DayakDaily
