Public can help authorities keep track of less fortunate through ‘Jejak Asnaf’ app

KUCHING, March 25: The public is urged to download the ‘Jejak Asnaf’ application to assist the authorities in keeping track of the whereabouts of the less fortunate.

According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), Sarawak Islamic Council (SIC) president Datu Misnu Taha was referring to a mobile application developed by Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS) to identify the asnaf (the poor) among the Muslim community in the region.

“Then, we will go and investigate,” he said when met at Majma Raya Fest 2023 opening ceremony at Majma Mall here today.

There are 156 stalls selling various Raya Aidilfitri preparation throughout Ramadan. The festival would operate from 10am to 10pm from March 23 to April 22.

Present to officiate the event was the wife of Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunication (Utility) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, Datin Siti Shorgayah Ahmad Zaidin, who is also the honorary treasurer of Sarawak Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers (Sabati).

At the same time, TBS has presented assistance worth RM38,380 to 30 recipients under ‘Program Mengukuhkan Tradisi Keilmuan’ (Strengthening Knowledge Tradition Programme), ‘Program Membangunkan Institusi Islam’ (Developing Islamic Institutions Programme) and ‘Program Memantapkan Kebajikan Ummah’ (Strengthening Community Welfare Programme).
